Redstone Rest Stop
& Picnic

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

  • Difficulty: Varies Base on what level you want.

  • Dog Friendly: Yes!

  • Stroller Friendly: NO

This place is probably my favorite place to go for beautiful red rocks in Nevada. We love going right before sunset because the sky is just so gorgeous. The level of difficulty varies here because it's mostly flat desert ground with rock formations scattered throughout. So you have the option to stay on flat ground or climb some of the rock formations.

we let our kids roam around this area all the time but during the spring and summer we will most likely put them in carriers because there can be snakes and other critters they are not aware of.

This place is were I take the best photos too, so if you are looking for family photos in the Nevada Area definitely a great place for that.

XOXO,

mama

  • Open Year Round

  • Dog Friendly: YES

  • Stroller Friendly: Only in the Visitor paved areas.

  • Entrance Fee: $10.00 per Vehicle

  • Camping: Yes $20 per night + $10 for utility hook ups

This state park is so gorgeous! One of my best friends actually got proposed to here and it was so romantic.

This park is about 50 miles outside of Vegas and there are just so many things to see. The rock formations are so beautiful and they look like they are on fire during certain parts of the day.

You can camp, hike, bike, picnic, bird watch, and so many other things here. We've even seen long horn sheep here a few times. There is a large visitor center with a gift shop and the drive along the roads are so beautiful. This is a must see place if you are in Las Vegas.

Historic Railroad Hiking Trail

Boulder City, NV

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Distance: 7.5 miles / 12.1 km

  • Dog Friendly: YES

  • Stroller Friendly: YES

This is a very easy hiking trail through old historic railroad tunnels. The trail has a gorgeous view of Lake Mead and the tunnels are so cool to walk through. During the summer the trail is closed due to HIGH heat which is dangerous in this area. The kids love this hike so much and it's flat so they can run around. There are some drops off the side of the trail so it's smart to keep a close eye on your kids and/or bring a stroller for them to ride in.

I did this hike when I was 6 months pregnant with twins so it's definitely an easy hike for all walks of life. It's fun to bring your dog(s) or even ride your bike along the trail.

XOXO,

Kelly
