What you need:

  • Large Canvas or Drop Cloth stapled to a thick Styrofoam Board (Card board will work, but it won't have as much depth from the wall.)

  • Black Oil Paint & Brush

  • Black Thick String for hanging

Cost for both pieces together $7.00

I used the styrofoam boards that came with a piece a furniture we had purchased.

I first stapled the drop cloth ($5) I had to the board to create my canvas. I then used oil  paint to create the pattern on the canvas.

You can either staple or use a screw and tie the string to the back of the canvas to hang. This project took about an hour to create both pieces, but I loved how they came out. A friend of mine thought I found the pieces at Target for $60.00 each! When she found out it only cost me $7 to make them she was amazed.
